Every year we receive many requests for tours of the facility for children with special needs, the elderly and people with disabilities. Many of the requests have to be denied because they often cannot tour the 22 acres without difficulty or assistance.
Our cats become very agitated when wheelchairs or other assisting devices are present. Also, a lot of the elderly or people with disabilities are not able to walk on their own around the large facility. The use of a golf cart would provide a safe vehicle for these visitors to tour the center without causing the cats any stress. We would not have to deny these visitors the pleasure of being up close and personal with some of the most amazing animals on the planet. They could hear all about our cats and conservation and welfare efforts while gazing into the eyes of a tiger, lion, leopard or mountain lion.
